September Holiday Coding Camp Pokémon Dino Run
Code, Create, Conquer: Join the Adventure!

Day 1:

Introduction to Tynker and The Pikachu Run Game: Animate Your Main Character with Basic Programming Concepts – Pikachu

On the first day, your child will be introduced to Tynker and the Dino Run game in a fun and engaging manner. By incorporating the beloved Pokémon character, Pikachu, into this popular game, we make learning both exciting and relatable.

Your child will delve into the basics of game design and the fundamental concepts of a side-scrolling, endless runner game. They will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity by designing their own sounds, obstacles, coins, score system, and levels. This session is designed to be a perfect blend of learning and creativity, ensuring your child enjoys every moment while gaining valuable skills.

Day 2:

Exploring Advanced Programming Concepts: Variables, Conditions, and Project Completion

On the second day, your child will dive deeper into advanced programming concepts, focusing on variables and conditions essential for enhancing their endless runner game. They'll learn how to make obstacles, like cacti, appear at random intervals until Pikachu collides with them. Encouraging creativity, your child can customize their game by placing obstacles in random locations, adding animations, and incorporating sound effects. We'll also recap the programming concepts taught in the previous session to reinforce their understanding.

Students will be tasked with completing their side-scroller endless runner game. They are encouraged to add more obstacles and make their level more engaging. After refining their games, they can test other students’ creations and receive feedback on their own game, making adjustments to enhance interactivity and user-friendliness. This session is designed to be fun and relaxed, allowing students to make final touches and polish their projects. To conclude, students will present their games to their classmates, who will provide constructive feedback, emphasizing the importance of game testing in the development process.
